Immigration System

Department of Immigration and Citizenship in Australia issues either Temporary or Permanent Visa. Migration Act 1958 regulates the entry and stay in Australia for non-citizens. The Migration Regulation 1994 sets out important provisions giving effect to the Act.

The Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) regulates the migration advice industry in Australia. MARA keeps a public register of all registered migration agents. This register and migration agents code of conduct can be seen on the MARA website MARA - Code of Conduct
